to build and mould a ministry team in this beautiful part of Highland Perthshire. The successful applicant will have the chance to appoint a ministerial colleague (0.3 stipend) to join him/her to work with existing groups in the various aspects of the ministry of the parishes in the linkage.
We have welcoming congregations with healthy attendance and there is a commitment to outreach. The various buildings are well maintained and well used, and are host to a range of worship styles. In addition, there is a willingness to grow and to work together.
We would love to grow our young families and children’s provision and further develop our outreach to the local community. Whilst recognising our different approaches and traditions, there is a willingness to develop constructive co-operation within the new linkage. Moreover, we are hoping to maximise on the talents, skills and abilities within our congregations.
What we can offer
There are a number of experienced preachers available to the congregations. The Kirk Sessions are committed to helping to provide a healthy work/life balance for the incoming minister.
The well-maintained, 4-bedroomed manse is located in Aberfeldy, one of Scotland’s most picturesque and well-appointed towns. There is a secondary as well as primary schools, and a well-used community campus with 25m swimming pool and squash courts. Aberfeldy is a thriving cultural, business and tourist town with a community cinema and medical centre amongst other facilities. The town of Pitlochry with its renowned Festival Theatre is a twenty-minute drive away and there is excellent connectivity from this ‘heart of Scotland’ to the rest of the country.
The area is renowned for its beautiful countryside, wealth of recreational opportunities and historic attractions.
What we're looking for
We are hoping to appoint a minister with a passion for preaching and teaching, who will enjoy developing and supporting the congregations to reach out and offer help to those most in need in our communities and to work with the congregations.
